Bang Bang Sauce Bang Bang Sauce originally comes from China where street vendors serve Bang Bang Chicken, a dish of shredded chicken in a spicy sauce. But surprisingly, it wasn’t named this way for the heat. Bang bang refers to a hand held wooden club that they use to pound the cooked chicken down. It’s said that The Bonefish Grill originally created a version of Bang Bang Sauce using mayonnaise as a base and spicy Thai chili sauce. Inspired by their sauce, we created a plant-based version using spicy chili paste and Sriracha for heat and flavor. But, don’t let the name fool you! Cool and creamy cashews take away much of the heat and you’re left with a sweet and mildly spicy sauce with lots of deliciousness. It’s amazing drizzled over our Bang Bang Tacos! |
