Hemp Cheese

We use this cheese in our delicious Spinach, Mushroom and Hemp Cheese Quesadillas! I am always looking for a replacement for nuts because my daughter has a nut allergy. This cheese is my go-to for panini's and wraps. It's also packed with protein from those little, nutritious hemp seeds!

Ingredients

1/2 cup hemp seeds
1/4 cup tapioca flour
4 tablespoons nutritional yeast
3 tablespoons tomato paste
2 cloves garlic, peeled and left whole
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/8 teaspoon white pepper
1 1/2 cups water

Directions

  1. Place all of the ingredients into a high-speed blender, and blend until completely smooth, about 2 minutes.

  2. Next, heat a medium-size saucepan on medium heat for about a minute.

  3. Pour the hemp cheese mixture into the hot pan and cook, while stirring, for 3-4 minutes until it's thick and smooth. You’ll see the mixture turn into a creamy cheese right before your eyes!
